DECENT February 2018 Monthly Recap; A look back on this months accomplishments, events & milestones
Even though February is the shortest month of the year, DECENT was able to accomplish quite a lot in just 4 weeks! The blockchain company has put forward a monthly overview which highlights some of their accomplishments, events & milestones.
Starting with their technical achievements, DECENT made several big announcements and released a DCore technical roadmap, the first of its kind for DECENT which was actually written by developers and explained their focus on improving infrastructure and making DCore accessible for mass adoption.
In reference to the road map, DECENT is already ahead of schedule with the updated version of working API and SDK documentation. The updated webpage is dedicated for DCore technical documentation with loads of important information for miners, developers and anyone looking for insights into the technical nature of DCore.
This month DECENT also began implementing a web voting tool for miners and the design for a new website is coming along smoothly. They are looking at outsourcing the development to reduce the load on their inhouse team.
- Voting tool progress: 50%
- Visual prototype for decent.ch progress: 95%
DECENT added a new ambassador to the community in Daniel Riddell, and welcomed one of their miners to the Bratislava HQ, who was able to meet with Founder and CEO Matej Michalko. DECENT announced that they hope to increase community involvement and meet more of their loyal and supportive members.
ALAX hit the press with two major articles this month about DECENT’s cooperation with Dragonfly on the joint project. This led to an outreach of 177 different mentions and articles from online media sources including Forbes, BitcoinGarden, CryptoCurrencyMagazine, CryptoNoticias, Banklesstimes, TheTechPanda, Forklong and many others. An interview with Matej Michalko even made it into printed format in Forbes Magazine Slovakia. The overall potential reach of all this publicity was more than 46 million readers.
The team at DECENT has also been busy spreading the word at international conferences. In February they attended the following:
- Startup Grind in Bratislava
- TEA conference in Hong Kong
- International Blockchain Congress in Chicago
- Google CEE Executive Summary in Mountain View, CA
- The Bratislava Meetup
- Meetup at Christian Grata College in Hong Kong
Internationally, their team in China has been working hard to increase brand awareness by launching some successful contests for community participation, increasing the numbers in their community by more than 300% this month alone.
Meanwhile at Bratislava headquarters, DECENT kicked off a bi-monthly breakfast which gives department heads an informal forum for sharing new projects and initiatives.
“It’s a great chance to intermingle the departments and build excitement about what everyone is doing. We are scaling up as well, adding a technical writer, project manager, and two community managers so it’s important for everyone to meet each other in a casual but collaborative environment.” – DECENT Founder and President, Matej Michalko.
In addition to ALAX, a blockchain mobile marketplace and app store built on DCore, several new projects and use-cases are being discussed with some potential partners. Areas under talks include using the DCore platform for:
- Resort Currencies
- Collective Investing
- Academic Publishing Platforms
- VODs
- Tracking user data for contributor awards
- and more.
In February, DECENT also rolled out a new Contest Series which will give out more than 10,000 DCT total in prizes. They are using their Telegram channel for announcements and updates of this contest.
February is the shortest month of the year, but DECENT has packed in quite a lot during only 4 weeks. Blockchain technology is a fast moving space, so keep your eyes pinned on DECENT as they continue to lead innovation.
